Just in time for the holiday season, Art Herstory launches two new items to celebrate history’s women artists. The first is an Artemisia Gentileschi-themed magnet/magnetic-bookmark combination. And the other is a Lavinia Fontana porcelain ornament. Either—or both!—makes an perfect stocking stuffer for the art-lovers and/or feminists on your list.
Artemisia Gentileschi Magnet/Magnetic Bookmark Combination Gift
The Art Herstory Artemisia Gentileschi Magnet-Magnetic Bookmark Combo Set highlights details from two paintings by the Baroque Italian artist. The details are from these paintings:
- Judith and Her Maidservant, held at the Detroit Institute of Arts; and
- Esther Before Ahasuerus, held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The magnet and bookmark appear on a product card (4.5 x 5″). The back of the product card includes thumbnails of each artwork, with information about the paintings.
Magnet
The laminated 3 x 2″ magnet features a three-quarter detail of the figure of Gentileschi’s Judith holding her sword. Information about the work appears around the outside edges of the back side.
Magnetic Bookmark
The bookmark is made of lacquered cardstock; folded, its dimensions are 3.75 x 1.5″. It has a magnetic snap closure at the bottom of each inside surface, to grip the page securely. The front side features the detail of Esther with her attendants. The back side presents a thumbnail of the painting, with complete information about the work, and the Art Herstory logo.
Lavinia Fontana Holy Family with Saint Catherine Porcelain Ornament
The first Art Herstory ornament features a painting by Lavinia Fontana. The porcelain disc ornament features details from the artist’s painting The Holy Family with Saint Catherine of Alexandria (1581). The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) holds the original work.
The made-in-the-USA ornament has a diameter of 2.75″ and is a quarter-inch thick. It comes with a white ribbon for hanging. It is packaged in a 3.5 x 3.5″ white cardboard box with a clear acetate lid.
The text on the back side of the porcelain ornament gives full information about the painting. The box bottom includes a thumbnail of the painting, and complete details about the work.
