Exciting news, Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art shop now carries Art Herstory wares! Here’s the list of Art Herstory items shoppers will find in this wonderfully curated emporium:

These products relate to an important exhibition that has just opened at the Wadsworth: By Her Hand: Artemisia Gentileschi and Women Artists in Italy, 1500-1800. The show opened on September 30; it runs in Hartford until January 9, 2022. It then moves to Michigan, where it will open at the Detroit Institute of Arts on February 6, and run until May 29.

Art Herstory is in excellent company on the “By Her Hand” display. The store has collected an impressive array of high quality, original goods that celebrate Artemisia Gentileschi and other Italian women artists. These include an Artemisia tote, folding wallet, and leather keychain; and thematically appropriate mugs, puzzles, and postcards. We particularly appreciate the ornament and children’s book in honor of the Giovanna Garzoni hedgehog on display in the exhibition! There’s also a selection of books about women artists, including the show’s exhibition catalog. For the full list, visit this link.

But don’t limit yourself to the exhibition display. In our exploration of the store, we also found a Frida Kahlo ornament, as well as these Frida Kahlo socks.

Art Herstory is honored to partner with the Wadsworth’s elegant store. Do stop by the shop if you have the chance. Otherwise, visit online to find unique, high quality books, stationery, jewelry, and gifts. And check for special events or offers around Museum Store Sunday, November 28!
