Announcing a major development: we now offer Art Herstory note card wallets.

A new look for Art Herstory note cards

Art Herstory is excited to introduce attractive, durable note card wallets—in six different designs!

The gorgeous new Art Herstory note card wallets are artist-centric. Each wallet focuses on a women artist in the Art Herstory note card line. Each contains eight note cards (A2 format; four each of two designs) and eight green-gold envelopes.

These new wallets are made in the USA and printed on sturdy 18-pt stock.

Artist-centric packaging

So, who are the six early modern artists that these new note card wallets feature? And what are the note card designs that each wallet contains?

Sofonisba Anguissola

The Sofonisba Anguissola Note Card Wallet includes cards that reproduce the artist’s Portrait Group with the Artist’s Father Amilcare Anguissola and her Siblings Minerva and Astrubale, from Nivaagaards Malerisamling, and The Chess Game, held by the Raczyński Foundation, National Museum, Poznań.

Artemisia Gentileschi

In the Artemisia Gentileschi Note Card Wallet, Artemisia fans will find cards that reproduce Self-Portrait as Clio, held in The Bennett Collection of Women Realists, and Esther Before Ahasuerus, held in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Judith Leyster

The Judith Leyster Note Card Wallet presents our cards of the artist’s 1630s Self-Portrait, from the National Gallery of Art, and Boy Playing the Flute, which is owned by Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.

Maria Sibylla Merian

The Maria Sibylla Merian Note Card Wallet contains Study of Capers, Gorse, and a Beetle, held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and The Rocu Tree, with Caterpillars, Moths, and Butterflies, a posthumous counterproof owned by the Getty Museum.

Clara Peeters

The Clara Peeters Note Card Wallet includes two of Art Herstory’s three Peeters cards: Still Life with Flowers Surrounded by Insects and a Snail, held at the National Gallery of Art, and A Bouquet of Flowers, owned by The Metropolitan Museum of Art (on view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 617!).

Rachel Ruysch

The Rachel Ruysch Note Card Wallet presents cards that reproduce Flowers in a Glass Vase, from the collection of the Detroit Institute of Arts, and Still Life with Rose Branch, Beetle and Bee, held at Kunstmuseum Basel.

A new approach

Up to now, we have offered our note cards either individually, or packaged in thematic six-packs (containing one card of each of six designs). The new note card wallets are a significant departure for our stationery line, in that:

  • There are eight cards rather than six, per set;
  • The front and back covers of the packaging reproduce the artworks that appear on the cards inside the wallet;
  • Each spine is pre-printed with the name of the featured artist;
  • The book-like format opens to allow easy access to the cards and envelopes;
  • They are the first pre-packaged Art Herstory set to include multiple copies of the same card; and
  • On the inside flap, QR codes directing art lovers to the Art Herstory resource page for the featured artist.

What about Art Herstory’s earlier products?

Our earlier products are all still available! Customers can still purchase Art Herstory note cards as individual units; as pre-packaged thematic 6-packs; or as custom-designed 3-packs or 6-packs. Holiday cards, too, are still available as individual units or boxed sets of ten. And the note cards in each wallet reflect the high quality that customers have come to expect from Art Herstory.

Note card wallets: a great gift idea

Thus, Art Herstory note card wallets represent a new way to celebrate some favorite historic women artists. Attractively packaged, they are a wonderful gift option for any occasion!
